SynapTerm is a desktop app. Your servers, passwords, keys, commands and terminal sessions stay on your computer: they are never sent to us. This page explains the little that does reach our server, and only when you request the beta, activate a license or check for updates.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Sergio Lagüéns Tornero, 53347245X, Spain. For anything about your data, reply to any email you received from SynapTerm.
What we store and why
- Beta requests (form on this website): your email and the optional message, to send you an invitation.
- Licenses: your email, the plan, the dates (created, updates until) and a hash of the license key (we don’t keep the key itself), to know who may use and update SynapTerm.
- Activated devices: a device identifier (a salted hash of your operating system’s machine id; it contains no name, user or network address), the device name you see in Settings → License, the operating system, the SynapTerm version and when it was activated and last renewed, to enforce the limit of 3 devices per license and let you release them.
- Server logs: technical events (for example “device activated”, with the license id) and the IP address of requests that are rate-limited, kept for a short time to protect the service.
The legal basis is the performance of the license you request or hold (art. 6.1.b GDPR) and our legitimate interest in protecting the service from abuse (art. 6.1.f).
What we don’t do
- No telemetry or analytics in the app or on this website, and no cookies on this website.
- We never see your servers, credentials, files or what you type.
- We don’t sell or share your data. Emails are sent through our email provider (Migadu) and the service is published through Cloudflare, who process data only to provide those services.
How long we keep it
While your license exists. Beta requests that don’t become an invitation are deleted when the beta ends. Backups of the license database are kept for 14 days.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by replying to any SynapTerm email. Deleting your data deletes your license and its devices. You can also complain to the Spanish data protection authority (AEPD).
